xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people have lived in the Fraser River estuary since time immemorial and are descendants of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking people. Their lands and waters continue to support their cultural and economic practices, while serving as a source of knowledge and memory, encoded with their teachings and laws.

Musqueam Indian Band has a proven track record of successful economic development projects and partnerships throughout their territory. Musqueam Capital Corporation (MCC) is the economic development arm of the Musqueam Indian Band. MCC is responsible for the development of Musqueam’s lands, acts as asset manager for Musqueam’s real estate holdings and facilitates partnerships for numerous business opportunities.

səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation) is one of many groups of Coast Salish peoples living in the Pacific Northwest. Oral history tells of up to 10,000 Tsleil-Waututh members living in traditional territory, depending on cycles of hunting, harvesting and preserving foods, and on trade with neighbours. By drawing on knowledge from their ancestors, Tsleil-Waututh have a Sacred Trust, a responsibility, to care for and restore traditional territory to its former state.

Tsleil-Waututh Nation under the banner of its development company, Takaya Developments, has developed over 1,000 homes to date in the Raven Woods community in North Vancouver, with projects including Destiny2 and Seymour Village developed alongside Aquilini Development.

Future partnerships include the Heather Lands and Jericho Lands in partnership with MST Development Corporation made up of xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
